The King’s Factor?
KCL Theology student JB Gill has swapped lecture notes for high notes as part of X Factor boy band JLS.
”It has been a big sacrifice giving up my studies as I’m in my third year at uni,” JB said of his involvement in the band, which also includes Marvin, Oritse and Aston.
”However, I have been given this amazing and exciting opportunity and myself and the boys in the group are really enjoying it. Hopefully I can represent the university in a positive manner by winning the show!”
JLS stands for ‘Jack the Lad Swing’, a name for which they were unable to get full legal rights.
The group have been getting a lot of female attention since appearing on the ITV show, with fans writing on Facebook groups to declare them “smoking hot” and “fit fit fit.”
A King’s College spokesperson said: “We wish Jonathan and his band, JLS, luck in their bid to win X Factor and will follow their fortunes on Saturday nights.”
After auditioning in the O2 arena, singing If I Ever by East 17, JLS went through the X Factor boot camp and were selected as one of 12 finalists. They are being mentored by veteran judge Louis Walsh.
