Central St. Martins graphic design show
Later this month the works of final year Illustration students on the Graphic Design course at renowned Central Saint Martins (CMS) will go on display to the public. Each year the exhibition typically offers a mix of paintings, drawings, etchings, photography, printmaking, alternative media, graphic novel and comic work, book cover design and moving image.Students will be honing their own unique styles and artistic personalities and, if previous years are anything to go by, an intriguing array of contemporary works should be on the cards. The list of impressive alumni members is endless, with past students having gone on to do work for Radiohead, I-D Magazine and many others.
Signatures of this CSM course seem to be the minute attention to detail and a sense of humour that swings from quirky to cutesy to chillingly dark. And, as students are given the freedom to explore individually chosen themes, the content and inspirations of the works promise to be varied and personal – which is exactly what you would hope for from an arts course taught in this multi-cultural hub that we call home: London.
If you want to take a sneaky look at the works before heading down to support your fellow students, visit: http://www.csm-illustration.com/
And, if you have any leftover student loan burning up a hole in your pocket and fancy expanding your private art collection, these works will also be up for sale.
Open to Public 22-25th March, 10am – 6pm.
