Review: Englands lane books

Having only opened in July last year, England’s Lane Books is fast becoming one of London’s best independent bookshops. Ideally placed between trendy Primrose Hill and quaint Belsize Park, the bookshop specialises in deluxe editions, poetry and children’s books. It boasts a spacious and bright space, with friendly and very knowledgeable staff who give excellent recommendations.
England’s Lane Books holds a monthly book group (which includes a free glass of wine), as well as regular author readings. Previous author guests have included Tom Hodgkinson and Lauren Child, and the great British literary editor, novelist and memoirist Diana Athill is the guest this spring!
England’s Lane Books is also the place to be if you fancy bumping into a few A-list British actors (no name-dropping allowed, sorry), who are regular customers. And if all that wasn’t enough, the bookshop gives a 10% discount to students, too.
Whether you love books, enjoy literary conversation or want to discover an alternative side to London, England’s Lane Books is the place to go. It is definitely one of London’s greatest hidden gems.
